Lee Hall: The Peaceable Kingdom: A Discussion of Spirit, Nature, & Animal Rights
(a) Talk description
How did the ideal of the Peaceable Kingdom find its way into visual art, music and literature? What is its meaning today, when invoked in animal advocacy? Are animal-rights activists creating the Peaceable Kingdom - or questioning it? How do dominance, love, spirituality, and animal rights intersect? Hear and explore the ways in which the vegan movement’s potential may well depend on how activists think about these questions.
The talk will serve as an introduction to feedback and discussion by the participants.
